Madera County, located in Central California, 4 1/2 hours north of Los Angeles and 3 hours east of San Francisco, is the southern gateway to Yosemite National Park. Madera County has many scenic and historic locations for filming including the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway, Sierra National Forest, Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad, San Joaquin River Gorge, cities of Madera and Chowchilla, Native American Indian sites, the very popular Bass Lake and terrain ranging from Yosemite National Park and the High Sierra to the San Joaquin Valley.
